The building at 415 N. 3rd Street in St. Joseph, Missouri, has been home to many different companies since its original construction in 1909 as the Noyes Norman Shoe Company and warehouse. It was later part of the Helping Hands community and housed a majority of the areas Christmas tree light manufacturing. It was part of the Pony Express Warehouse system when Foutch Brothers purchased the building in late 2003.
Construction started in May of 2004 and was substantially complete by the end of that same year. The Foutch Brothers design concept showcases all of the original exposed brick walls, structural wood columns, beams, joists and decking. New concrete floors replaced most of the damaged wood floors to produce an industrial style, easy maintenance facility similar to the original.
Living spaces range in size from single one-bedroom units of 800 square feet to larger 3-bedroom, 2 bath units of 1,500 square feet. Most of the apartments are 2 bedroom, 1 bath spaces sized at 1,000 square feet.
The Lofts _ 415 include an indoor exercise room with weight training equipment and a rooftop garden with a barbeque grill and great views of the historic downtown area and the beautiful Missouri River. Other amenities include free basic cable, wireless high speed internet and an outside fenced dog run. Single and double car garages as well as storage units can be rented, as well as off street parking. The building also features closed circuit monitoring and a secured entrance.
The building currently contains 46 market-rate apartments for rent, or sale as condominiums.
